a rudimentary understanding

of words and colors

brown becomes yellow

if you wish it so

if you reversed time

a grey streak on a newly stretched canvas

unpainted,

unwashed,

and dandered

most days

dandelions

decapitated seed heads

blow across a swampy field

the best picture or analogy I could muster

for the one grey strand I can’t stop staring at
